To strengthen our Functional Carbohydrates business, we are looking for an experienced and commercially minded:
Portfolio Manager
Mannheim, Germany
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive global product category strategies to grow the portfolio, improve profitability, and guide long-term direction (including 5YPL assumptions)
- Monitor market trends and competition to deliver actionable insights and steer strategy in line with (or ahead of) market shifts
- Co-define target/minimum pricing (with Regional Sales Director/Global Accounts input) and manage pricing deviation approvals to optimize bottom-line results
- Oversee and challenge the project pipeline to ensure efficient execution
- Identify and communicate business opportunities to Sales, Customer Techinical Service, and BI, and keep sales teams supplied with accurate, up-to-date product information
- Maintain strong, ongoing engagement with key customers to capture their needs and sustain relationships
Your Profile
- Master's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Bio-Engineering, Business or a related discipline, or at least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Strong nutritional or food ingredient background.
- Proven commercial experience within B2B ingredients, food, nutrition or related industries.
- Experience in product management, portfolio management or category management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market insights into strategic actions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in an international and cross-functional environment.
- Fluent English is essential; additional languages are considered an advantage.
